The Haircut!

Garrett Ayersman 
competed in his first IBO World Championship in 2005
and finished 13th in the Cub Class. 

In 2006, Garrett took 3rd in the IBO National Triple Crown overall and 2nd place in the World Championship Cub Class, missing first place by one 'X' - yes, that's right - tied the championship score, but was short a bullseye.  It was a heartbreaker, but he shot well and learned a lot.

Competing as a 13-year old Cub in 2007, Garrett achieved what future Cubs will strive to achieve for many years to come.  He swept the IBO circuit earning more than eight Championship titles to include the IBO World, IBO National Triple Crown, and the Southern Triple Crown Cub Class Championships. 

While 2007 would be considered impossible to beat, 2008 has actually proven to be equally successful for Garrett in the YMR13-14 division.  He overcame the yardage for the new class, retired his Hoyt UltraTec and practiced faithfully to break in his new Hoyt Seven 37, stepped up his mental game in anticipation of the new talent in the class, and even stepped out of the comfort of the IBO circuit to experience the challenges of Vegas, Louisville, and the 15-17 Young Adult class at the Kentucky ASA.  All with hard-earned, yet unbelievable success.

With the 2008 IBO World Championship left to go, Garrett is well aware that the talent in the YMR13-14 division is going to be tough competition.  "I know I'm going to be beat eventually", Garrett has told family and friends many times.  "I just hope its next year," he says laughingly.

Guess what?  Next year is here and Garrett is taking his lumps in stride!  Twice so far this year USA Junior Archers have defeated Garrett
at the sport he enjoys so well.  Garrett, however, has accepted the double defeat like a true sportsman, and is already looking forward to competing with the USA favorites next year.  In the meantime, 3D is here and its time to focus on the 3D events ahead and meeting up with his IBO and ASA opponents and friends.
